Petra Pacaric is a jazz vocalist whose artistry is rooted in a lifelong devotion to music. Though her earliest performances were shaped by American Folk traditions - earning her radio and television appearances and several honors in her native Austria - Petra's true musical home emerged in the world of vocal jazz.
After early success as a pop vocalist, Petra pursued formal vocal studies in Austria, Spain, and Canada, ultimately graduating from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in Voice Performance in 2000. While her training opened doors to acclaimed classical appearances - including performances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra Festival Chorus, solo recitals, and ensemble appearances across Boston and New York - she continually returned to the expressive freedom she found in the jazz genre.
Over years of performing throughout the greater Boston area and New England, Petra has cultivated a warm, sophisticated jazz style marked by clarity, nuance, and emotional depth. Today, she devotes her work primarily to the American Songbook, interpreting timeless jazz standards with a refreshing sense for improvisation and simplicity. Her fluency in five languages enriches her repertoire, allowing her to weave Bossa Nova, Tangos, and French Chansons seamlessly into her sets, creating performances that are both globally inspired and unmistakably her own.
